Situated along the waterfront of Hong Kong, the Sakura Tsuki Hotel serves as the ideal backdrop for our design. We were inspired by the external context of the hotel and sought to establish a strong connection between the restaurant and its surroundings. Our approach was to seamlessly blend the natural beauty of the waterfront with the interior space, creating a visual harmony that evokes a sense of tranquillity.

To achieve this, we employed a thoughtful selection of natural materials such as timber and stones, infusing the space with warmth and visual richness. These materials not only provide a tactile quality but also establish a connection to the surrounding environment. As patrons enter the restaurant, they are greeted by various screening walls of different porosity, creating a layered effect that promotes both privacy and sociability – a delicate balance that encourages diners to engage with their surroundings while enjoying a comfortable level of privacy.

The overall colour palette of the restaurant resonates with the ‘sakura’ concept of the hotel, featuring a soothing pinkish tone that exudes elegance. To further enhance this serene ambiance, we incorporated intricate timber detailing on select feature walls, inspired by the delicate patterns found in nature. Additionally, bespoke floor patterns, reminiscent of floral motifs, guide patrons through the space, subtly alluding to the overall sensory experience they are about to embark upon.
In line with our commitment to innovation, we introduced large digital walls that showcase poetic moving images created by talented illustration artists. This innovative concept adds a contemporary and futuristic touch to the restaurant, enriching the overall dining experience. The artistic visuals serve as a captivating backdrop, enhancing the ambiance and engaging diners on a visual level.
