The Bean Table
Furniture as Art
The Bean Table by Bean Buro embodies a thoughtful convergence of form and function, drawing from the quiet allure of Japanese zen gardens. With its sculptural curves, it offers a flexible setting for dining, working, or playing, accommodating both communal and private moments.
Each contour of the Bean Table is designed to support the natural flow of interaction, gently guiding users into a shared or individual space. It respects the organic nature of human gatherings, subtly shaping and enhancing the way people converge or retreat in their daily activities.
“The Bean Table represents the harmony of organic inspiration and conscious design, inviting a fluid dialogue between space, material, and the rhythms of everyday life.”
— Lorène Faure & Kenny Kinugasa-Tsui, co-founder of Bean Buro
In partnership with ColourLiving and featuring a marble top from Antolini, the table marries the concepts of luxury and sustainability. This collaboration has allowed for a rich, tactile experience, provided by the exquisite Italian marble, renowned for its beauty and durability.
The table’s foundation pays homage to the environment through the use of bamboo ply, a material selected for its sustainability. Bamboo's rapid growth makes it an eco-conscious choice, and its application in the table's design results in a striking pattern visible along the edges and curves, celebrating bamboo's natural aesthetic.
Presented at the '25 Years of Design' exhibition in Hong Kong, the Bean Table joined a collection of works by respected designers, forming part of a narrative that speaks to Hong Kong's creative spirit and contributions to design over the years.
In its essence, the Bean Table stands as a subtle yet profound piece of design, reflecting Bean Buro’s dedication to creating elegant, environmentally thoughtful, and versatile furniture for contemporary spaces.
